Things to Remember:

Ensure that you select holidays that align with your brand

As with all of your content, ensure that hashtag holidays you choose resonate with YOUR fans and followers. August 31, for example, is International Bacon Day, however, if your audience “don’t dig on swine” or are predominantly vegan, #sizzlingthebeast probably won’t be to their taste. Don’t risk upsetting your fans or damaging your reputation. There are plenty of other (non-cloven hoof) holidays to choose from.

Tap into the conversation

Include relevant hashtags to tap into the wider conversation and spend some time engaging with the hashtags and on other posts for your chosen holiday(s).

Key messages come first

This content should not replace your core business content, rather, this is a fun way to supplement your day-to-day posting and to engage your current audience and potential attract new followers who share common interests.
